Cheetah trade: Nations to Suppress Social Media Enticement

The world's fastest land mammal, cheetah, trafficked from Africa to the Middle East. Buyers and sellers using social media to connect each other and allowing new owners to show off expensive purchases. Around 90%, population of cheetah has decreased since 1900. They have been trafficked out of Africa, with some 85% of them dying during the journey.

The United Arab Emirates do some actions like crack down on social media platforms. They said that they had already targeted some of the biggest websites and had removed many advertisements. Ahmed al-Hashmi, director of biodiversity at the UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, said that there is a new legislation which will regulate the owning of endangered animals, so it says who is able to own them, like zoos or breeding canters, but also regulates the registering of them by individuals.

I think the regulation should not allow individual to own cheetah as their pet. Cheetah is endangered animal, if individual own them then their population will decrease year by year. Individuals also need to take responsibility for their action on the Internet.

  1. People always kill animals, whether it is for eating or making accessories from animals' skin. Also, people have some endangered animals as their pet. I don't understand what they are thinking about. If all people are heartless, several years later, there will be no animals in this world.

  2. I think it is still not right for the government to allow individuals for owning cheetahs even if they register it to the officials.
