India reported that 80%
of India's surface water is polluted. Based on data in 2013, 75-80% of water
pollution by volume is from domestic sewerage. The sewerage flows into water
bodies including rivers have almost doubled in recent years. The impact of this
kind of thing is many disease arise, for instance cholera, dysentery, jaundice
and diarrhea.
It happened because poor septage management and a near
absence of sanitation and waste water policy framework are primary reasons
responsible for the groundwater and surface water pollution in the country. However, India
has of late started focusing on the problem of septage management, which is one of the most immediately
implementable solutions to address urban waste water.
In my opinion, India was not
the only country which has this problem. Developing country also had this
problem. This problem need a cooperation between government and citizen.
Government should give facilities and tell the citizen about the facilities,
how to use it and what is the advantages. After that, citizen should use the
facilities as well as possible.
